1. Bole:
Bole is a Port-Harcourt delicacy. You can find this nearly at every street corner in Port-Harcourt and they sure know how to make them. The meal consists of Roasted Plaintain served with spicy red oil sauce and usually accompanied with fish. If you haven't tried Bole, you're definitely missing out.

If you have ever visited Enugu, you would definitely know the famous Enugu Okpa. One of the remarkable things you hear hawkers shouting is "okpa di oku" (hot okpa). Although Okpa can be bought in other parts of Nigeria, to get the best Okpa experience, you'll have to try out the Enugu Okpa.
3. Suya:
Suya is a Northern specialty but can be found all over Nigeria. Suya is part of our national treasure, we take it very seriously just like we take our Jollof Rice. Someone once said on Twitter that darkness is a special ingredient for Suya, so it is usually sold at night or late evenings.

Usually found on the streets of Nigeria between 6.00am - 9.00am in the morning and 5.00pm -8.00pm in the evening. Akara doesn't always go alone, it is eaten with either bread or Akamu, or Tea or with other fries.

Moin moin is another delicacy from the Beans family although some are made with corn. Moin moin can be found in every part of Nigeria, in traffic, roadside, restaurants and canteens. I love eating mine with garri and sugar, some others prefer palp.

7. Dodo:
The great dodo that usually accompanies our Jollof Rice, another national treasure Nigerians don't joke with. Dodo is fried plaintain, it is a very popular Nigerian food. You may see it as plaintain chips in traffic, you can also buy it at your fries stand alongside Akara and fried yam.

Kilishi is a dried form of Suya. Any body that visits the North always gets the buy-kilishi-for-me request.

Every street corner in Akwa Ibom is usually filled with vendors of the popular orange chicken and plaintain. If you've ever been in Uyo you would definitely know this, if you haven't then look out for the legendary roasted plaintain and chicken.
10. Corn and Pear:
This is the major food for the rainy season. Now in season, whether roasted or boiled, this is a special food to Nigerians. Personally I prefer boiled, because roasted can get burnt easily.
