Isima Odeh tells his story

Our guest on "The Talk" is Isima Odeh. He started doing business at the age of 10 in 2007. His first attempt at business was renting books at 10 Naira each, from there he went into investing in micro business, show organizing and finally online activities in 2009. Isima became Africa's youngest notable blogger at 16 and founded Africa Facts Zone in June 2013 at the age of 16. Africa Facts Zone has been recognized by The Punch, Radio 1 Belgium, BBC's Pri The World, Global voices, NTA and more. Africa Facts Zone is also Africa's biggest facts brand and in 2016, Isima reached an endorsement deal with Gistr, a social network and won several awards at 19. He made his first million at 17 and lost it a few months later due to bad investments but he has bounced back. In 2016 at the young age of 19, his company Africa Facts Zone was worth 30 million.
He is a young man that has made great impact and he would be answering a couple of questions subsequently.
Tell us about you.
I'm Isima Odeh, an entrepreneur, publicist, researcher, columnist and blogger based in Delta State.
What is the innovative idea behind Africa Facts Zone and how did you start it up?
Africa facts Zone was borne out of my wish to create a platform to share intriguing facts about Africa and Africans.
Has there been any challenges so far?
Our major challenge used to be lack of outreach, but that problem has been solved. Our challenge now is structuring.
What motivates you?
Life motivates me. It keeps me going, because when there's life, there's hope. I have faced so many challenges in life and even doubted myself at times, but I eventually overcame them.
What is your experience as a student entrepreneur like?
Being a student entrepreneur is not easy, but one shouldn't get distracted by either of them. You have to use your time well and make sure one of them doesn't interfere with the other.
What is your greatest mistake in respect to your business and what steps have you taken to correct it?
I don't have any regrets or feel I have made any mistake doing what I know best.

Where do you see yourself in the next ten years?
I see myself being world-renowned and having a well respected top global company in Africa Facts Zone and Top Notch Publicity.
What is your advice to young people?
My advice is this; life is in phases and stages, it obeys the law of turn by turn. Time and chance happens to everyone but make sure you make the best of it, because opportunity like they say comes but once.
